Nicki Day Equine Sports Massage Therapist

Equine Rehabilitation, Relaxation and Sports Massage

About Nicki

I am a fully qualified and insured Equine Sports and Rehabiliation Massage Therapist. I am a Professional member of the IAAMB (International Association of Animal Massage and Bodywork) and I am registered with UK Rural Skills. I trained and studied with Wolds Equine Rehabilitation & Training and graduated with a Distinction.

I have over 30 years experience with horses, training, competing and currently have two horses of my own. I have had horses nearly all of my life and feel very lucky to have been able to do so. My first pony at the age of 3 was a little Welsh lead rein pony and I grew up competing in local and affiliated shows. During my teenage years I experimented with dressage, combined training and cross country events. Moving on from competing, I had a little brood mare who we had three beautiful foals from and I enjoyed training and educating them. I have taken horses and ponies in for schooling over the years and I specialise in Natural Horsemanship techniques which I have found to be very successful, especially in nervous or highly strung horses.

I have always wanted to work with horses for a living and finally achieved my dream when I enrolled with Wolds and completed the Equine Sports and Rehabiliation Massage Therapist Practitioners course. I started out part time alongside my full time office job and then took the plunge to go full time in November 2019 and I have never looked back!

I love my job and find it so rewarding to be able to help your horses and ponies and to see the difference massage can make. Horses are such special animals and I believe they deserve the chance to feel the best they possibly can and I feel passionate about giving something back to them.

I currently treat a wide range of horses and ponies, from competition horses/ponies, happy hackers to golden oldie retirees and I enjoy my work every single day đź’•.
